Let's Begin
Use Notes/Tasks/Text to map out and create your change notes, drafts, draft notes, ideas, thoughts, and more in your Notes & Tasks Work Area.
Place Notes/Tasks/Text in your Lists/Lanes in the Notes & Tasks Work Area. Drag them to completion. Build your process and momentum. Never lose. Create your notes after a draft, before, or during.
Notes/Tasks/Text can also be considered writing ideas, thoughts, tasks for your story, writing, and more.
Edit Notes/Tasks/Text to place synopsis/description/goals/text inside them, select highlight colors, tag them with/select connected Filters/Tags, chapter #'s, scene #'s, set target dates, set or upload images, and more.
What this Page Covers
Basics
A few things to get you rolling.
- Notes/Tasks/Texts are placed vertically inside the Lists/Lanes in the Notes & Tasks Work Area.
- You can have unlimited Notes/Tasks/Texts inside a List/Lane.
- You can edit a Note/Task/Text's title, description/text, highlight color, tag/connect filters/tags, chapter #'s, scene #'s, target date, and other things.
- You can move, order, and reorder Note/Task/Text by dragging and dropping them where you want.
- You can tag/connect Note/Task/Text with Filters/Tags, Chapter #'s, Scene #'s in the edit area and then filter/view using the Workspace/Filters Area located above the toolbar.
Get Started
You can add/create, edit, remove, move/order/reorder Notes/Tasks/Texts.
You can filter and view specific Notes/Tasks/Texts using the toolbar and the Workspace/Filters Area above the toolbar.
Add/Create: Note/Task/Text
There are currently 2 ways to Add/Create a Note/Task/Text in a List/Lane in the Notes & Tasks Work Area.
1. From the Lists/Lanes top area, select the Add New Note/Task/Text icon.
This adds a new note/task/text to the top of the list/lane.
2. Use your mouse to hover over or tap(mobile) a note/task/text to display the add note/task/text icons above and below it. Select the add icon in the position you want to add a new note/task/text.
It will ask you for a title for the note/task/text so you can keep track of it on the Notes & Tasks Work Area.
Select the Add button to add the note/task/text to the list/lane at that position or to cancel.
Edit: Note/Task/Text
There are 2 ways to Edit a note/task/text, and its information, title, highlight color, synopsis/description/goal, chapter #'s, scene #'s, tags(future), target date, and other things on the Notes & Tasks Work Area.
1. Double click/double tap(mobile) the note/task/text to quick open the Edit Panel.
2. Or use your mouse to hover over or tap(mobile) the note/task/text to display the edit button icon, and select it.
Both will open the Edit Panel.
Changes made on the Edit Panel are automatically updated and saved for you.
Remove: Note/Task/Text
*Warning ...Remember: You will not be able to recover the note/task/text or its notes & tasks contents after it is removed. All text and items inside will be permanently removed.
So be sure to make a personal backup of any text/info/images etc... you'd like to save before removing it.
Remove a note/task/text by opening its Edit Panel and selecting the Delete button on top.
On the confirm 'Delete this Note/Task/Text' popup click the 'Yes, delete it.' button to permanently remove the note/task/text.
*Warning ...Remember: You will not be able to recover the note/task/text or its notes & tasks contents after it is removed. All text and items inside will be permanently removed.
So be sure to make a personal backup of any text/info/images etc... you'd like to save before removing it.
Move/Order/Reorder: Note/Task/Text
To reorder/move a note/task/text and its contents to a different place in the Notes & Tasks Work Area:
Use your mouse to hover over or tap(mobile) to select the note/task/text to display its drag/move icon found in its upper left corner.
Click and hold with your mouse or touch and hold(mobile) the move icon to drag/move.
Drag and drop the note/task/text up or down in the current list/lane or to a new place in a different list/lane where you want it for your process.
If the place/list/lane where you want to move/drag and drop the note/task/text to is hidden off the viewing screen/area.
Drag/move the note/task/text to the edge of the screen in the direction you want to go and the screen will automatically scroll to allow you to drop/place it.
Changes made are automatically saved for you.
You can always reorder/move notes/tasks/texts at any time, or move them to another list/lane to try different things.
Note: Dropping a note/task/text outside of the Notes & Tasks Work Area or outside of a list/lane will return it to where it was. So when in doubt, drag the note/task/text out of the work area or outside of a list/lane and it will return to its original location.
We use move/drag icons for note/task/text because it's easier for users and it allows our software to work on all smart devices of any size, smart phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and to use on any operating system.
Limits
We know of some limits within the Note/Task/Text area, that we will be addressing with future updates.
We will be adding another new way to move and reorder Notes/Tasks/Texts to be released in the next version.
